Browser Fingerprinting & Hardware Detection

Cyber

Project overview

Most people think privacy is about cookies. This demo shows how tracking can happen using standard browser APIs—often without explicit permission or server-side logging.

Key features:

  • Browser/environment fingerprinting (language, timezone, screen, etc.).
  • Hardware/performance profiling signals where available.
  • Canvas/WebGL fingerprinting demonstrations with visible previews.
  • WebRTC leakage checks and sensor demonstrations (where permitted).

Why it matters (short reflective block):

If education is asking people to work safely online, “privacy literacy” has to mean more than telling them to clear cookies. We need to understand the mechanisms—so our policies and practices aren’t built on comforting myths.
